Lakeland Trails

The most scenic and inspiring running and walking events in the UK, held within the iconic landscape of the Lake District National Park.

The Lakeland Trails are the brainchild of former international athlete Graham Patten, who wanted to bring a European model of trail running to the Lake District. The event has grown considerably since its founding, in both the number of venues and competitors, and attracted over 5000 trail runners in 2010.

Bowland Communications has been exclusively providing safety critical communication solutions to all of the Lakeland Trail events since 2012, and we continue to work closely with the team to provide effective lines of communications.

In addition to providing on the day radio communications we also provide full on-site technical support, on site training (where required), contribute to event staff briefings and produce training / reference materials including the ‘Event Pocket Guide’ which are distributed to all event staff and contains key event safety information and procedures.

We use Bowland Communications for all of our events. The Bowland Communications team give me the peace of mind that our radio requirement and management is fully covered on the day, leaving us to ensure we stage a great event.

They also work very closely with our paramedic and marshal teams helping enable a solid network of safety provision for all of our competitors.
